Field Survey of Area 1 of the Malacca Straits TSS Completed
The field survey of Area 1 of the Traffic Separation Scheme near One Fathom Bank in the Malacca Straits was completed on 1 April 2010.
The field survey of Area 1 of the Traffic Separation Scheme near One Fathom Bank in the Malacca Straits was completed on 1 April 2010. The hydrographic survey was carried out by GEMS Survey Limited in co-operation with the hydrographic offices of the littoral States of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore for the MEH Demonstration Project. The survey vessel MV Arifah Adni sailed from Loyang Offshore Supply Base in Singapore on 10 February 2010 and was on the survey site for more than 44 days, which included several port calls at Port Klang. The survey vessel demobilized in Singapore on 4 April 2010 at Loyang. A debriefing session was held on 5 April 2010 in Singapore for the oversight team (MOST) with the view to carry out verification of the survey data. Following demobilization, GEMS crew returned to the United Kingdom whilst the oversight team are preparing for the forthcoming verification session to be held in Malaysia this April 2010.
