General Procurement
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has received financing in the amount of US$ 6.86 million equivalent from the Global Environment Facility /World Bank toward the cost of the Regional Marine Electronic Highway (MEH) Demonstration Project for the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. Specific procurement notices will be posted as and when required.
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004 edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition).
In the case of Project procurement financed by donors other than the World Bank, IMO procurement procedure will be followed.
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket and at www.imo.org (Marine Environment/Marine Electronic Highway).
